Hoopoe, Alpine Swift, Great Spotted Cuckoo, Eurasian Roller, European Bee-eater and Black-headed Bunting are amongst the more colourful migrant breeders. The list also includes the endemic Cyprus Wheater, Cretzschmar’s Bunting, Eastern Olivaceous Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher and Masked Shrike. Black-winged Stilt breed on the wetlands and Little Bittern have bred occasionally. Cyprus is the most easterly breeding area for the Eleonora’s Falcon. Glossy Ibis is a recent addition as a migrant breeder.
