  3. Hoping to vist Cyprus next year what areas do you offer for bird watching tours?

  4. Hello, I’m staying near Polis until Monday 5th September. I’d be interested in a half day or even a full day’s birding while I’m here. I’ve heard about the Demoiselle Cranes at Akrotiri or perhaps there’d be something of interest nearer to where I’m staying on the Akamas peninsula. If you have any ideas I’d be interested to hear them together with an indication of cost. Many thanks, Simon

  5. hi we were given your name by wildlife travel we are going to be in Cyprus from the 3rd August to the 17th on a family holiday but would like a days birding for the two of us if that was possible .We know its not the best time of year but if you are available some time during our stay in Ayia Napa that would be great .Many Thanks Margaret Porter

  6. HI, I am a Finnish birder and I will be visiting with my non-birder wife Turkish side of Cyprus very shortly March 6-9. We have guided tours on 07 and 09 and only one day, Tuesday 08 free. I have tried to find from the reports about best birding sites this early time of spring, but not so easy. Do you have any guides or local birders living near north coast? Where is the best places to see Cyprus warbler? Are there any places near north coast for Moustached warbler? Is it too early for Bonelli’s warbler and Cretzschmar’s bunting and semi-collared flycatcher?

  8. Hi, I am going to be staying in Coral Bay very soon and would like to know if you can confirm if Aspro Pools ,Paphos Sewage Works and Lady’s Mile are now void of water and whether there are any other pools nearby worth checking this side of Larnaca? Many thanks.

    • Hi Nigel, Aspro pools don’t really exist any more so no water there at moment. There is still some water on Lady’s Mike – a bit saline but there should be some waders around. And there is some water still in the main salt lake and at Phassouri Reedbeds. Am not sure about the water levels at the Ezousas soakaways ( to the west of Paphos sewage works) as it depends on how they are being managed and can vary from day to day. I would check them out though. Mavrokolympos and Evretou dams to north of Paphos could be worth a visit.

      • This is of great help, thanks for your advice. Gutted about Aspro Pools as it was my favourite site this side of the islands on my last 3 trips to Cyprus. Will try all the sites mentioned and try my luck.
        Best of birding to you.
